The powers of the Smaltimore print community brought me this guillotine and new printy contacts this month. The guillotine came from a local printer named Cat, who caught the printing bug from Mary Mashburn, who taught me letterpress too. Cat and her husband were sweet enough to help move the guillotine into the studio– it's about 1,000 lbs lighter than Joe, but still heavy. All the cool tools are beasts..except for my new tiny type!
I'm imagining all the books and chunky stacks of paper I'll be able to slice though – just need to sharpen the blade first!
A quick day trip up to Nyack NY to pick up my work from the Edward Hopper House. The Small Matters of Great Importance: En Route exhibition was up for almost 3 months, but I never made it up there to visit until now. Although, I admit, that was sort of my plan all along. I dropped off my work one Monday morning and got a quick peak of the Village of Nyack and knew I would have to come back and explore a bit more.
