Like Nonni's Tablecloths
A little Italian kitchen. With the window open, church bells can be heard as if they're next door. Pots and pans clanging in an apartment nearby and chatter from the neighbors fill the air. The floral patterned vinyl tablecloth reminds me of my nonna and I like to imagine every grandmother nearby has a similar one that is always a bit sticky and gets swapped out as seasonal decor.
The original photograph was taken in my old apartment in Venice Italy. Using it for my collage, I cut it up, painted on top, and then used the collage to create this risograph print.

About Risograph printing: Risograph is a process similar to screenprinting, where an image is exposed onto a screen which allows it to be printed using soy-based ink onto paper. This process allows for more detail to come through, making photorealistic printing more achievable than with screenprinting.
